Maximization Turns All Apps Full Screen

Maximization Turns All iPhone Apps Full ScreenYou may never have thought to notice, but the status bar on the iPhone actually takes up 20 pixels on your screen. Now this wouldn’t normally be an issue on a device with a much larger screen like the iPad, but on the 3.5″ screen that the iPhone touts - it is a bit of a pixel sacrifice. This upcoming jailbreak tweak ‘Maximization’ aims to fix this issue by removing the status bar from pretty much any application. See the video overview below to see it in action:

Maximization actually works incredibly well, and after using it on my phone for a couple of days - there’s no way I’m taking it off. Everything seems to look better full screen, and the only real downside is that you can’t scroll to the top of apps like Twitter by tapping the status bar. The images below show how much difference the 20 pixel addition actually makes, but this really is a tweak you’ll have to try out for yourself. As you can see, everything tends to look better, cleaner and more polished with the 20px added to the application. It makes for a better user interface within pretty much any application of the operating system. Of course, there are bugs, which is why the developer has added the ability to turn off the tweak within certain applications within the settings panel for Maximization. It will be released very shortly in the ModMyi repo for free, so if you want to check it out - you can!
